MCI management completes exit from S4E

MCI Management SA, the Polish privateequity and venture capital firm active in CEE, completed its exit from S4E,a Warsaw-based distributor of disk matrices and mass storage devices forcomputers, through the sale of its remaining shares in the company in April.MCI sold the 40.09% stake to Ingalil Holdings Limited and currentSupervisory Board president Roman Pude?ko, at a price of PLN 6.25 per share.MCI originally entered S4E through an acquisition of nearly 91% in 2001. Duringthe life of the unusually long investment period, the average annual rate ofreturn was about 17%. MCI executed a partial exit in 2007 through an IPO whichbrought a 35% return.

MCIinvests in incubation, start-up, and early venture opportunities as well asexpansion opportunities, buy-outs, and mezzanine investments in establishedcompanies. The usual amount of investments that MCI makes is between €250,000and €5 million with a horizon of three to seven years. Biotechnology and healthcare, life science, communications, e-commerce, and real estate are among thesectors of interest for the Polish private equity and venture capital firm.
